Horse

Horse. According to classical mythology Poseidon created the horse, and according to Virgil the first person that drove a four-in-hand was Erichthonius. In Christian art the horse is held to represent courage and generosity. It is an attribute of St Martin, St Maurice, St George and St Victor, all of whom are represented on horseback. It is a not uncommon emblem in the catacombs adn probably typifies the swiftness of life. The use of horse attributively usually denotes something that is coarse, inferior, or unrefined, as in horseradish, horse mushroom.

Murphy

This is Murphy, our newest addition to the family. She's a chinese dwarf hamster. I take her in a Kritter Keeper to work, and she eats lunch with me. She's discovered peanut butter, and I think we have a fan! She has the most adorable little star on her forehead, and when I pet her head, she closes her eyes and almost goes to sleep! She's named after Murphy from the Dresden files books.

Door

Yvaine, our little white mouse, died the 20th of April. Door, our white and brown mouse, had a skin infection that we tried to treat for a couple of weeks after that, but the strain was too much for her little body. We had her put to sleep a few days ago, and now she and Yvaine are together, gorging on sunflower seeds and taking as many naps as they like!

Rest in peace, my little mice.

Graduation

Sorry I haven't posted in a while... It's been really busy. Last week I officially graduated! Yay! My parents, brother, and parents-in-law came down to see me from Florida and Chicago. It was a lot of preparation and waiting for a 5 second walk across the stage, but it was worth it. However much waiting there was, it was still fun. I now have my tassle hung over a corner of my diploma on the wall. Adam even put on a suit and tie for me, and it wasn't even Sunday! :)
