Skeet is CUDDLING!

I'm not sure if it's because it's getting colder, or if he's just mellowing out, but Skeet is cuddling now! Not teddy-bear cuddling like Gypsy does, but sidles up to Adam or me and "hangs out". Skeet will also batten down the hatches and sleep under the covers between Adam's knees. Adam creates "tents" especially for him!

Ibex Trip

We took a trip to Ibex to do some canyoneering a couple of months ago. I love the pictures I took! It's almost impossible to take a bad photo. There's also a picture of Adam, reading at our campsite that night.

The canyon we did is called Little Blue John, which is considered to be a beginner's canyon. I'd never done this before, but it was a lot of fun! Inside the canyon was cool, both temperature-wise and was amazing to look at. We ate MREs for lunch, which was another first for me, but they aren't that bad. The only part that I didn't like was the hiking, both before and after the canyon. There was a lot of hiking, over very sandy, pokey ground. I was wearing hiking shoes that had openings on the sides, so a lot of sand got in my shoes.

I'd do it again.

Kasy!

Kasy will likely be retired from breeding at the kennel I work at. I loved her, and she adores me, so it looks like she'll be a full-time pet with us! I took her to Petsmart, and got toys, a leash, and a giant pillow! I also got her a flavored rawhide bone, but she's already eaten about half of it. Next time, I think I'll get her one of the 3 foot long ones!
Skeet went into hiding as soon as he saw her, but Gypsy swatted Kasy's nose and follows her around, keeping an eye on this new creature. Right now she's on a chair next to Kasy's pillow, watching her eat her bone. Kasy's rather intimidated by Gypsy, but it looks like they'll be cuddling soon!

A Sad and Happy Day

Mango was killed a few weeks ago by our foster cat (she somehow got inside the house without us knowing). I miss him a lot, the way he took baths while I did dishes, tried to eat anything he could get his beak on, and how he talked to me.

A couple of days ago we got another lovebird. Onyx is happiest with a friend. Morgan is our pied lutino lovebird, about 10 weeks old now. He still has pinfeathers on his back. He loves to cram himself into any space he can, whether it's my armpit, under my hair, or behind a pillow. We'll have to make sure we don't squish him!

More Murphy!

This is a picture of Murphy, posing in a little pine needle basket I made for Mom's birthday. I made it in time for her birthday, but not in time to send it to her!

I had to take about 15 pictures to get four that were really good. She was a wonderful model in that she stayed in the basket, but she kept looking around and washing her face!

Murphy's about 2 years old now. She's a perfect little hamster, loves to explore and eat treats. When she gets tired and wants to go to bed, she lets you know by nibbling on you.

Murphy

In my opinion, Chinese dwarf hamsters are the nicest hamsters of all. When I worked at Petsmart, among my other duties, I took out and showed the fuzzy things to the customers. The only breed that never bit me were the Chinese dwarfs. My sister used to have one, and so did another pet store I worked for. Murphy used to go with me to work, and shared lunch with me.

She gets lost so easily, though. The cats are still intent on finding out if she's tasty, so when we lose her, it's doubly terrifying. It'll be better when we get rats again. They don't get lost so easily, and Skeet learned that rats aren't as afraid of him as hamsters are. I remember when they first met... they walked right up to Skeet and started going through his fur. That freaked him out really fast.

These pictures were taken as she sat in my lap. She's quite photogenic if you can get her to hold still long enough!

Tiny Kitty Shirts

I got a pattern for shirts for small dogs, and made one for my cats! It's made out of an old shirt I had, and it fits both of them! Don't they look so happy?

Onyx Laid an Egg!

Onyx, our new little lovebird, has laid two eggs! She happened to lay them while she was in her fuzzy hut at the top of the cage, so they both fell and cracked open. I got her a little box and put some fake eggs in, so hopefully she won't lay any more. We don't want to breed them right now, and laying eggs is hard on a tiny bird's body. The eggs were much bigger than expected! They were a full 3/4 inches tall, with love birds being only about 4 inches tall.

New Shoes!

I custom ordered these All Star shoes. Aren't they awesome?! They're a dark purple with pirates on the tongues/insides, and black laces. I love them.

Florida!

This is Dad at the shooting range. I'm afraid I can't remember what gun he had...

Mom had boxes and boxes of photos, and she enlisted Meg and me to help her go through them! It was really fun. We got to see photographs of us as kids, and all the pics she had of our weddings.

Meg and Jonathan, after a bath in the sink!

Me and Adam at the beach. I just had to take the old "hold up the camera so you can take a pic of both of us" picture. :)

I got to see my nephew Jonathan. He's not used to me yet, so this was a rare shot!
