In my opinion, Chinese dwarf hamsters are the nicest hamsters of all. When I worked at Petsmart, among my other duties, I took out and showed the fuzzy things to the customers. The only breed that never bit me were the Chinese dwarfs. My sister used to have one, and so did another pet store I worked for. Murphy used to go with me to work, and shared lunch with me.
She gets lost so easily, though. The cats are still intent on finding out if she's tasty, so when we lose her, it's doubly terrifying. It'll be better when we get rats again. They don't get lost so easily, and Skeet learned that rats aren't as afraid of him as hamsters are. I remember when they first met... they walked right up to Skeet and started going through his fur. That freaked him out really fast.
These pictures were taken as she sat in my lap. She's quite photogenic if you can get her to hold still long enough!
